Marist Geography Week 2024
Marist Geography Week took place recently. This was a jam-packed week with numerous events including scavenger hunts using an Ordnance Survey Map of the school and grid referencing skills. Both Junior and Senior students got involved in this activity. A Geography Table Quiz also took place for 2nd and 6th year students led by our Marist Leaders.
All first-year students engaged in a space workshop hosted by Satellite Skills Maynooth. There were also competitions running including daily riddles, photo competition and guess where the teacher is from. The Transition Year students enjoyed a movie and popcorn. We also linked in with our Green Schools Committee engaging in daily litter picking. 1st year students got creative, making earthquake structures and globe balloons. Lastly, Senior students made some Salt Dough maps, mapping out regions covered in Leaving Certificate geography such as India and Italy. Well done to all students for taking part and thanks to the Geography Department for organising an active and engaging week.
