

Maths Week 2018 in Marist College
Maths Week in Marist College began with a 1st year poster competition ‘Maths in my Everyday Life’. The standard was extremely high with Dónal McDermott winning 1st place, Darragh McGrath in second place and Aindriu Lynam winning third. 1st Year ‘Hackaton’ at Ericsson
All first year students were invited to Ericsson to participate in ‘Hackaton’ workshops. Students had the opportunity to work in groups of four, where they developed and presented a project based on the computer programming languages HTML and CSS. Winning teams were presented with prizes and all students got the opportunity to participate in a plant tour with a Senior Software Engineer. Marist College Senior Football Team Advance to the North Leinster League Final
Marist College 1-17 Colaiste Eoin 1-5. Well done to our senior Gaelic side who qualified for the north Leinster league final with a win over Stillorgan outfit Colaiste Eoin in Pairc Chiarain last Wednesday. Tomi Reichental Visit
We were extremely honoured and privileged to welcome Mr. Tomi Reichental to Marist College this week. Tomi is a Holocaust survivor who powerfully spoke about his experience in Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. He also spoke about the importance of remembering the past and engaged in a question and answer session with our students. Marist Week 2018 was celebrated recently in Marist College in conjunction with the other Marist schools in Ireland, Moyle Park and Marian College in Dublin. Marist Leaders – Leadership training trip to L’Hermitage, France
Marist Leaders is a leadership programme for senior students of Marist College Athlone, Moyle Park and Marian College in Dublin. As part of their leadership development programme, students recently visited the home of Marist founder Marcellin Champagnat in L’Hermitage, near Lyon in France. U16 Basketball Subway All Ireland Schools Cup
Marist College – 23 St. Colmcille’s CS, Knocklyon – 19 Our U16 Basketball team got off to a great start in the Subway All Ireland Schools Cup, travelling to St. Colmcille’s CS in Knocklyon, Dublin. All Ireland Inter-Schools Sailing Championship
The 2018 All Ireland Inter-Schools Sailing Championship took place this weekend in Sutton Dinghy Club, Dublin. Two days of tough racing against the top schools in the country saw Marist College Athlone take the overall Team Championship title, along with the Conor Nolan Memorial Trophy.
