Marist Student Receives International Soccer Call Up

There was great delight in Marist College this week when news emerged that 2nd year student Dylan Gavin has been selected for the Irish U-15 soccer squad.

Dylan, who plays his club soccer with Athlone Town, was named in the squad of 18 that will play 2 friendlies in the coming weeks. First up will be a meeting with Manchester City and then they will face Poland.

Dylan is a very talented sportsman and last year was a key figure in Marist U-14 Gaelic team who won the Leinster A Championship.

We wish Dylan all the best over the coming weeks and look forward to seeing him wearing the green jersey. He will follow in the footsteps of Marist old boys like Robbie Benson and Jack Carty who both played underage soccer for Ireland.
