Senior Gaelic Team Qualify for League Final

Marist College 2-15 Moate CS 1-11

Well done to our senior footballers who qualified for the North Leinster League final following a 7 point victory over Moate CS. In a tight first half, Marist struggled to break down the opposition. Three points from Ciaran Sugrue, 2 frees from Joe Carmody and a pointed from Fred Kelleher kept Marist in touch. However it was Moate who led 1-5 to 0-6 at half time. The second half was much better from a Marist point of view, scoring 2-9 to run out 7 point winners. Scorers in the second half were Joe Carmody (1-3, frees and penalty), Paul McGrath (03, 3f's), Ciaran Sugrue (1-0), Tom O'Carroll (0-2), and Rory Dempsey. They will now move on to play St Pat’s Navan in the league final. Congratulations to St. Brigids and Caulry on their recent respective championship wins. Team: Cathal Dolan; Rory Dempsey, Pearse Frost, Keelan Connor; Ian O'Rourke, Cian McBrearty, Colm Lynch; Eoin Mulvihill, Fred Kelleher; Paul McGrath, Tom O'Carroll, Matthew Nally; Joe Carmody, James Carey, Ciaran Sugrue. Subs used: Brian Ruane, Shane Cunnane, Stephen McGonagle, Philip Monaghan, Mark Haran
