Mixed Fortunes for School Basketballers

Over the last number of years basketball has been steadily growing in popularity within the school. So far this year our U-16 and U-19 teams have had great results, with both qualifying for league semi-finals.

Our U-16’s has a comprehensive win over Confey from Co. Kildare in their semi-final, running out convincing 80-34 winners.

They now await a league final to be played before Christmas. Squad: Shaun Fox, Brian O’Hara Duggan, Daire Canty, Ultan O’Rourke, Liam Naughton, Sean Claffey, Senan Baker, Michael Munnelley and Olan Healy.

The U-19 squad made the long trip to Thurles where they came up against a very strong Thurles CBS team. The scores were level at the break but Thurles pulled away in the final quarter to win on a scoreline of 65-50. They now turn their attentions to the Cup competition which begins after Christmas.
