Marist College 3-13 Moate CS 0-3.

Well done to our Senior Gaelic panel who won their second round clash versus Moate CS in the North Leinster A league on Tuesday, securing qualification for the semi-final with a game to spare. After a slow start, the Marist got off the mark through points from Shane Reid, Colin Murphy and Fred Kelleher. Two goals, one each from Ruairi Smith and Reid, gave the Marist some breathing space and they followed these goals with points from Murphy (free), Reid, Ciaran Sugrue (2), and a great team score finished by Fred Kelleher to leave it 2-8 to 0-2 at HT.

The second half was a slow burner as both sides used their benches. Colin Murphy got a free to get the Marist off the mark before Stephen O’Connor got the Marist’s third goal after some great work from Donagh Prendergast. Further points from Sugrue and Kelleher (2, one a great score from the right sideline) rounded off the scoring.
