Marist Leaders – Leadership training trip to L’Hermitage, France

Marist Leaders is a leadership programme for senior students of Marist College Athlone, Moyle Park and Marian College in Dublin. As part of their leadership development programme, students recently visited the home of Marist founder Marcellin Champagnat in L’Hermitage, near Lyon in France. The overall purpose of the weekend was to develop leadership and community through a shared experience of activities. The centre delivers an experiential wilderness programme, which was tailored to develop self-confidence and leadership skills, with a particular emphasis on our Marist Values. On the trip the boys enjoyed visiting La Valla and Le Rosey, travelling along the Route Champagnat. Throughout the weekend, the boys looked at their own experience of being in a Marist school and what the Marist Values mean to them. Student leaders Edward Clarke, Eoin McCarthy, Ben O’Carroll, Fergal Cunniffe, Conor McNamara, Conor Gillen, Daniel Breheny, Shaun Fox, John O’Shea, Cian McCarthy and Ronan Bars were accompanied by Ms. Colgan and Ms. Nolan, Project Coordinators.
