Marist College Senior Football Team Advance to the North Leinster League Final

Marist College 1-17 Colaiste Eoin 1-5.

Well done to our senior Gaelic side who qualified for the north Leinster league final with a win over Stillorgan outfit Colaiste Eoin in Pairc Chiarain last Wednesday. The Marist played some sintilating football in the opening minutes and settled well with scores from Ciaran Sugrue, Colin Murphy, Paul McGrath (free) and Ian O’Rourke. Colaiste Eoin drew level with a goal and a point. The Marist replied through a well taken penalty from Kieran Colclough and rounded off the half with scores from Fred Kelleher, Sugrue and Murphy. Colaiste Eoin finished off with 2 points to leave it 1-8 to 1-3 at half time.

The second half was a slow burner with no score until the 10th minute of the half through a Colaiste Eoin free, Marist replied with 3 points, 1 from Ben O’Carroll and 2 from Sugrue. Marist tacked on 3 frees in a row, one from Murphy and two from Colclough. Colaiste Eoin replied with a point, before Marist rounded off the scoring through Sugrue, Colclough (free) and Paul McGrath.
