CanSat team attend Midas Gala Dinner

Last week the students from our winning European CanSat team were invited to the annual gala dinner of Midas Ireland in the Ambassador Hotel, Cork. Midas Ireland is a group electronics companies and they sponsored the Marist team for their journey to the European finals in the Azores last June. Three members of the team Padraig McDermott, Paul McGrath and Sebastian Klosowski gave a presentation about their experiences throughout the competition and what their win at the European finals tells us about the future of STEM in Ireland. The Marist team then had the opportunity to network with leading figures in the electronics industry.

The following day the team visited another of their sponsors, Blackrock Castle Observatory. They were given a VIP tour of the facility and enjoyed learning about the work done in the observatory.
