

Agri-Careers Expo 2019
Senior students travelled to the RDS, Dublin to attend Agri-Careers Expo 2019. Students had the opportunity to visit numerous stands and discuss careers in agriculture with industry experts.


AIT and Ericsson Visiting Speaker
Thanks to Athlone Institute of Technology and Ericsson for a very informative talk about careers in software development. Our 5th Year Guidance learned about the college routes to careers in computing and post graduate opportunities.


Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement
Congratulations to all our students who recently received their Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement. The JCPA reflects their success in examinations, classroom-based assessments and other areas of learning.


TY Superstars - ‘Rock of Ages‘
Transition Year students from Marist College and Our Lady’s Bower put on a fantastic production of the musical ‘Rock of Ages’. Months of hard work and rehearsals were reflected in outstanding performances. The sold-out shows received rave reviews from the audiences each night. Well done to all involved.


Basketball 2nd Year Victory – Marist College v Naas CBS
Our Second-Year team also faced a stong panel from Naas CBS. The sides were evenly matched in the first quarter with early scores from both sides. The pairing of Bill Carmody and Ben Donegan got the Marist on the scoreboard. While in the second quarter Harry Stuart Trainor and David Westman added to the score line. Numerous three-point shots in the third and fourth quarters left the Marist well in front. Excellent team work from all involved and the lads now await their next


Basketball 1st Year Success – Marist College v Naas CBS
Congratulations to our 1st Year Basketball team who secured another great win. Our team faced a strong Naas CBS side in their third league fixture. Luke Whelan got several crucial early scores, to allow the team to settle into the game with confidence. Irish Indoor Rowing Champions
Congratulations to CÃan Scanlon Ortiz and Martin O’Grady, both awarded medals at the Irish Indoor Rowing Championships. CÃan Achieved bronze in the U15 Five minute row, while Martin won gold in the U16 2km row.


CSPE Garda Talk
Thanks to Garda Brian Keane for visiting Marist College to talk to our 3rd year CSPE classes. Students particularly enjoyed the very informative question and answer session. Students discussed local issues and the role of social media in crime.


Guatemala Trip for Marist Youths
January 15th marked the beginning of the biannual International Gathering of Marist Youth. It was held in Guatemala this year and centred around the theme of Weaving Life. Ciarán McDermott, a past pupil of Marist College Athlone (Leaving Certificate 2018), and a Marist Leader, was given the opportunity to attend, representing the province of West Central Europe.
