TY Barcelona Tour

Our Transition Year students were lucky to experience the sunshine and culture of Barcelona during the Easter break. A group of 40 excited students and 5 teachers set off from Marist College to a jam-packed itinerary in the Catalonian city and surrounding area. Over the course of the trip students took in the sights and sounds of the city, including cable car rides and open top bus journeys to visit Camp Nou of Barcelona FC, the famous La Sagrada Familia, Montserrat and Barcelona aquarium. The thrills of Port Aventura followed, a huge amusement park with some of Europe’s tallest and fastest rollercoasters. The itinerary also allowed time for testing out much of the local cuisine, shopping, a tour of the beach promenade and of course, a few games of football on the beach. A highlight of the trip was a visit to Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Spain’s Formula One track. Students had to opportunity to learn about the races that have taken place and view some impressive F1 cars. Overall, a very enjoyable Spanish experience.
