

Junior Soccer
Marist College – 6 Malahide CS - 1 Our Junior Soccer team had a great result against Malahide Community School last week. Our lads had the home advantage against a very competent Dublin side in extremely wet and windy conditions. Two early Marist goals got our team off to a strong start and, ultimately, a confident performance, ending with a Marist win.


ABP Angus Youth Challenge 2018
Four Transition Year students, Hugh Cunniffe, Fergal Cunniffe, Tom Shine and Gavin Daly have been chosen from a large volume of entries to go forward to the next stage of the competition. This is a skills-based competition offering a host of opportunities for students to develop skills and knowledge of the agri-food industry from farm to fork in a fun and challenging way. For the first stage, students created a short video showcasing their knowledge and interest in agri-food


An RÃl Deal Performance
Congratulations to RÃan Dully who recently competed on the TG4 show ‘An RÃl Deal’. This television show travels the country looking for the best dancers in Ireland. RÃan was selected from thousands of entries to perform a Sean Nós style dance. As a very accomplished dancer, RÃan recently won both the Westmeath and Leinster Fleadh. He came third in the All Ireland Championships and won the Fleadh Nua in Ennis this year.


Ericsson Bursary Recipients 2018
Congratulations to Joseph Reidy and Ciaran McDermott who were recently awarded Ericsson bursaries, recognising their academic achievement in Maths and Science. These most recent awards continue Marist College’s link with Ericsson’s Investing in Future Software programme (INFUSE). The INFUSE programme is designed to engage students in the world of Science, Maths and Technology, providing support and internships throughout their third level education.


U16 Gaelic North Leinster ‘A’ Championship
Marist College 4-11 St. Pat’s Navan 3-11 Congratulations to our U16 Gaelic team who had a great win against St. Pat’s of Navan in the 2nd round of the North Leinster ‘A’ Championship. This result secured the Marist a place in the North Leinster semi-final.


UCD Ad Astra Scholarship
James Sheeran, Leaving Certificate 2018, was recently presented with an Ad Astra Academic Scholarship from UCD. The Ad Astra Academic scholarship programme recruits exceptional, high-achieving students and provides them with unique opportunities as they study for a degree at UCD.


Trinity College Scholarship
Congratulations to Darren O’Hara Duggan who received an Entrance Exhibition Scholarship at Trinity College. Darren’s scholarship is based on his achievements in his Leaving Certificate exams. We wish him continued success in his third level studies.


ISTA Regional Science Quiz
The regional round of the Irish Science Teacher Association quiz took place in Athlone Institute of Technology. The Marist well represented with three teams. Well done to Ian O’Rourke, TJ Okodugha and Sebastian Klowowski who attained second place and will now represent Marist College in the national final in Trinity College next week.
