

Outstanding Achievement by Alan Parker
Well done to Alan Parker who excelled as a student here in the Marist. Alan Received top marks of 625 in Leaving Cert with 3 H2's also so in total 889 points. Alan was awarded the Br. Philip Award here in the Marist which is recognition to the student who has the best average maths grade for their senior cycle. Alan averaged 96.7% for all of 5th and 6th year in the school. TY’s Win Battle of Wits Westmeath Quiz
Well done to our Transition Year team who were crowned Battle of Wits Champions for Westmeath. This competition is a table quiz format based on general knowledge questions. It is organised by Westmeath Libraries and it was fitting that current Mayor of Athlone and Marist past pupil Aengus O’Rourke was on hand to present the prize to the winning team of Josh Earley, Daniel Butler, Eoin McCarthy, Edward Clarke, Lorcan Withers and Vincente Gaetani.


U-16 Basketball team win League Final
Marist College 37 St Paul’s Monastervin 31 On Wednesday last our U-16 basketball team travelled to Portlaoise to take on St Paul’s Monastervin in the league final. They emerged victorious (37-31) after a tight encounter. This is a great achievement for Ms Nolan and the whole squad, who have worked very hard all year. Senior Cup Team Secure Opening Victory
Marist College 27 Roscommon CBS 14 Marist came out on top in this opening group game in the 2018 Top Oil Conncht Schools Senior Cup Competition. Travelling to Creggs to take on Roscommon CBS was never going to be an easy task but a strong performance from the Marist pack was the platform on which victory was built. Robbie Henshaw Returns to Pass on Some Tips
On Thursday last our Former Past pupil and Senior Cup Captain Robbie Henshaw took the Senior Squad for a training session prior to their first Cup game which took place on Thursday the 7th of December in Creggs RFC against Roscommon CBS. Marist Tops Feeder School Table for Boys
Once again Marist College has been acknowledged as the top feeder school for boys in Westmeath progressing on to third level. The 2017 Irish Times Feeder Schools table shows that in 2017 93% of our Leaving Cert class progressed onto 3rd level. This is the highest of any school in Westmeath where boys are concerned, be that a single sex or mixed school. Junior Cup Team off to Winning Start in Cup
Marist College 22 Colaiste Iogniad 12 Congratulations to our Junior Cup rugby team who travelled to Galway to face The Jes (Colaiste Iogniad) in the Top Oil Junior Cup tournament and came away with a 22-12 victory. LCVP Raising Money for Motor Neuron
The LCVP 5th year class had a great halloween fundraiser in aid of Irish motor neuron disease association Ireland raising 730 euro. Well done to all involved.


Marist in Italy
The Marist 5th year Geography class made a trip to Italy. They traveled to Rome, Pompeii, Mt Vesuvius and the Amalfi Coast. It was a great an worthwhile trip.
