Debating

The English department are currently running a debating competition for 1st and 2nd year students every Wednesday and Thursday. Adjudicators are a mix of 5th year students and teachers. So far we have thrashed out two motions, “This house would intern suspected terrorists”, and “This house believes that social media has done more harm than good”. Every student gets the opportunity to debate which fosters their research, analysis and teamwork skills. It will run until Easter when the final takes place. The students are getting fully immersed in their particular topics and are thoroughly enjoying the experience.
