Marist College 34 Sligo Grammar 14

Marist Seniors got their league campaign off to a positive start with a bonus point win against Sligo Grammar at Marist College last Tuesday afternoon. Five tries in all, scored by Kealan Connolly, Mark Tallon, Dara Mulvihill, Leo MacFarlane and Gonzala Cretanio aided by the boot of outhalf Michael Byrne.

The Marist side who began their pre-season in July were the sharper of the two sides and some great work by the forwards, aided by an exciting backline, will no doubt give the Marist management a lot of decisions to make in team selection throughout the season. Next up for Marist is an away trip to Summerhill College in Sligo.
